Why not forget the Past?

*Philippians 3:13*
_Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; *but one thing [I do,] forgetting those things which are behind* and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,_

*Insight*
Did you know that prior to this verse, the scripture it says ” *_That Jesus has laid somethings for you ahead_* “? I will show you *(Philippians 3:12)* _”Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but *I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me* .”_ Meaning that ” *_Clinging to your Past will hinder you from getting Hold of what Jesus has also prepared or laid hold for you._* ” Isn’t some beautiful truth!

If God has chosen to forget your sin in this New Covenant ( *Hebrews 8;12-13* ), if he has placed your sin as far as the East is from the west ( *Psalms 103;12* ); Why then do you want to remember you past sins? Whatever the past experiences of your life or your former Relationships were, the scripture it says *(Isaiah 43:18)* _” *Do not remember the former things* , Nor consider the things of old.”_ and *verse 19* says (paraphrased) ” *God is doing something New, can you not see it?* The reason we can’t see it is because we are clinging to the Old. Paul persecuted the saints and yet he chose to forget that past and focus on what’s Ahead and Boy oh Boy! his ahead was a wonder. You too can forget that past and focus on what’s a head, what the lord is doing. God has something New, a New Covenant, a New Relationship, A New life laid hold for you and all you just have to do is forget the past and reach out for what’s ahead. Amen

*PRAYER*
Father we thank you for this truth. For quite a while now, some of us have failed to progress in life because of our sins and experiences. But today lord we let it go and focus on what’s Head in Jesus’ Name Amen.
