THE HOLY SPIRIT

*Study scripture:* _John.16.8-10 – And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:- Of sin, because they believe not on me;- Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;_

*THE HOLY SPIRIT*

The ministry of the Holy spirit in a believer is different from his ministry in the life of a non believer. The bible says that he will reprove the world of sin and of righteousness.

How does he reprove the world of sin? The Holy spirit does not reprove a believer of sin. It is the world he reproves of sin. The Holy spirit casts guilt and condemnation in the hearts of those that do not have Jesus Christ in their lives. He continually reminds them that they need Jesus.

When he reproves the world of righteousness, this is his ministry to the believers. As a believer,the Holy spirit keeps reminding you that you are the Righteousness of God in him. He reproves you of righteousness to call your attention to what he has made you in Christ.

Many christians are living under guilt and condemnation and they suppose it is God behind that. But it is not the Holy spirit who causes guilt and Condemnation to a believer. His ministry to you to tell you of your new nature in Christ.

The bible speaks of someone called the accuser of the brethren. _Revelation.12.10 – And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the *accuser of our brethren is cast down,* which *accused them before* our God day and night._ Satan is the accuser of the brethren in the bible.

Many times the devil throws a sentence of death and judgement upon many christians and they think it is the Holy spirit. But it is Satan, he always seeks to disqualify what God has spoken concerning you and you end up guilty. He always convicts you contrary to what God has made you.

Satan will convict you of sin yet God has made you righteous. Satan will convict you of sickness yet God has healed you. Satan will convict you of poverty yet God has made you rich through Jesus. He does so because he is an accuser.

Child of God understand this,The ministry of the holy spirit to unbelievers is to remind them that they are sinners who need Christ. But to believers,he reproves of righteousness by reminding you that you are the righteousness of God.

*Nugget:* It is not the Holy spirit who causes guilt and condemnation in the heart of a believer. The accuser of the brethren is the one that causes a sentence of judgement upon you. To a believer,the Holy spirit keeps telling you that you are righteous and reminds you of your nature in Christ.

*Prayer*
I thank you Lord for the gift of the Holy spirit. Am continually reminded that am the Righteousness of God in Christ to the glory of God.
