*Study scripture:* _Mathew 13:5-6 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: – And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away._
*PARABLE OF THE SOWER 2*
Let us first get the understanding of the seeds that fell on the rock. *Luke.8.13 – They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.* The seed is the word of God.*(Luke 8:11).*
Remember the rock also represents revelation. *Mathew 16:18 – And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock (of revelation) I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.* What made and established Peter as a rock was the revelation he received of Jesus Christ as a son of God.
This means that the establishment of the church to prevail against the gates and wiles of hell is the place of revelation. He did not mean to say that the church be built upon the grave of Simon Peter as some religions misinterpreted it. Jesus meant the church to be established on *a rock of revelation.*
The seeds that fell on rock and Stony places represents christians who receive the word of God and have access to the full revelation of it. They carry the understanding of it and as a result they are excited and full of joy.
But their only problem is that they do not let the word of God take root in their hearts. It is one thing to receive the revelation of word of God but,it is another for the revealed word to dwell and have roots in your heart. The heart is represented by the earth/ground in this parable.
*Ephesians 3:17 – That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,* Remember Christ is the revelation and rock.*( Mathew 16:16; …you are the Christ, son of the living God)* You can only be rooted, grounded and established in that revelation of the word by faith.
Those who did not have roots are those that heard the word, got the revelation and understanding of it but did not attach faith to it. They had a lot of joy because of the understanding but yet could not dare believe.
*Hebrews 4:2,…but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.* The only word that could ever profit you as a Christian is the unto which you attach faith. Faith grounds that word fully in your heart to birth results.
As a result of their unbelief, tribulations, persecutions and trials came on account of that word and were shaken. Make it a discipline to attach faith to the word of revelation you receive. It is faith that establishes, roots and grounds you.
*Glory to God!!!.*
*Further study:*
Hebrews 4:2
*Nugget:* When you understand the word of God, always endeavor to attach faith to it. It is the faith you attach to the word that defines the extent of your roots and grounding. By faith you are able to stand against all manner of persecutions.
*Prayer:* Thank you Lord for the revelation of your word. I exercise to attach faith to it and am never shaken by any circumstance in the name of Jesus.
AMEN.
