OF A COVETOUS GENERATION 1

_Let us know; let us press on to know the LORD; his going out is sure as the dawn; he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth.”_

*OF A COVETOUS GENERATION 1 -( Material Possesion)*

Praise King Jesus! Do you know what Covetousness is? To covet is to yearn to possess something according to the Oxford Dictionary. Covetousness according to the bible is *_“is an insatiable desire for worldly gain.” Covetousness is an insatiable desire to find fulfillment, meaning and purpose in things, instead of in God._* Covetousness is too bad the bible even calls it Idolatry ( *Colossians 3:5* )

You have heard it said and written that _”Thou shall not covet another man’s property or wife_” ( *Exodus 20:17* ) and perhaps in times past man couldn’t leave upto that standard because the law made the sin in him come alive and was too weak not to covet but then came Jesus who fulfilled the law ( *Matthew 5:17* ) including Not being covetousness and now dwells in us and has delivered us from the curse of the law ( *Galatians 3:13* ) and we arr covetous free in nature, it has no power over us anymore. Amen!

But why is it that we still have so many people today still prone to this sin? You will find men coveting other men’s gifts, ministries, wives, wealth and its not because they still carry a sinful nature in them but because they haven’t been awakened to what God has already given them through the knowledge of Him. The Bible says we have everything that pertains to this life through the knowledge of God ( *2 Peter 1:3* ).

From our theme Scripture, Hosea assures us that when we know and press to know God, His going out is as sure as dawn and His coming as the rains of spring meaning that God surely with no doubt whatsoever can give or manifest to you your own special ministry, gifts, your own beautiful wife, wealth and you don’t need to desire another man’s. Its not necessary as God can manifest Himself to you in the very things you desire. God has just what is yours and which will satisfy you. He shows no favoritism nor partially ( *Romans 2:11, Acts 10:34-35* ) and what He gave another man He can give to you even in greater measures. All you need to do is just ” *TO KNOW AND PRESS TO KNOW GOD”* and you will never even desire to covet what’s another man’s.

_God has just what is yours and will satisfy you all, He shows no favoritism nor partially and what He gave another man He can give to you even in greater measures. All you need to do is just *”TO KNOW AND PRESS TO KNOW GOD”*_
