IS IT TIME FOR MATERIALISM?

*Study scripture: * _2 Kings 5:26-And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants?_

*IS IT TIME FOR MATERIALISM? *

This story reflects a conversation between Gehazi and his master prophet Elisha. When Gehazi should have received the anointing of God, he instead turned his heart and invested his efforts to pursue material things.

There are many Christians who function by the Gehazi syndrome. A time when they ought to settle and allow God to release something to them is when they instead turn their attention to material things. It is not bad to pursue material things,but they must not be at the expense of your spiritual inheritance.

Elisha sked Gehazi whether it was time for receiving money and other things because this man was at the most sensitive part of his life where something was supposed to be transferred to him from Elisha but he instead gave his heart to material things. He lost his inheritance just for money.

Another example we have is Esau who sold his birthright because of just soup. At the time when he was supposed to come and inherit the blessing,there was no place found for him though he cried bitterly. You must know the time for seeking material things because they can make you lose your spiritual inheritance.

There are many ladies who have missed their God ordained marriages because of materials. At the time when they should have opened their hearts to God for instructions, their attention was on materialism and ended up in wrong relationships and dating wrong people.

Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants? Be careful lest you lose out on your spiritual inheritance. Gehazi and Esau lost out because they did not know that at such a time was not for seeking material things.
