*Study scripture: * _1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant._
*DO NOT BE IGNORANT*
One of Paulâs major prayer for the church was that they are not left up ignorant. In many instances and churches in his letter,he admonished the saints not to be ignorant concerning several things. Definitely,what the bible emphasised in their days ought to be emphasised.
If the spirit of God through his apostles encouraged the church not to stay in ignorance, it is something we must tell the church in our days not to stay in ignorance too. You are supposed to be informed about everything in Christianity and others things about life. This especially comes through the word of God.
Look at these verses: *_Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery,….._ * and also *_2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing,…_ *. Look at this as well *_1 Corinthians 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant,…_* another is *_Romans 1:13 Now I would not have you ignorant,…._*. Ignorance was discouraged almost in all the letters by the apostles to the churches.
In all those situations,the scriptures tell us to avoid being ignorant concerning anything. There are some who are ignorant because they have not been exposed to the knowledge. And there are those who ignorant by choice because they have rejected knowledge.
The people in Athens worshipped an unknown God and Paul chose to make them know this God. *_Acts 17:23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you._* Their ignorance was because they had never had anyone tell them about this God.
Whereas Peter had individuals who were ignorant by choice, *_2 Peter 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of,…_* and Paul also had individuals who chose the path of ignorance; *_1 Corinthians 14:38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant._* These refused intentionally to learn about tongues.
As a minister of God, do not choose to stay in ignorance whether knowingly or unknowingly. Choose the path of knowledge and understanding in all things. Read the bible and different Christian books to have knowledge about all things because God does not want you ignorant.

Thank you Lord for your word that has come to me this morning teaching me about ignorance. I recognise that it is not your will for me you be ignorant about your ways and the word of God. I allow your spirit to teach me concerning everything to the fullness of your knowledge in the name of Jesus Christ.
