*Study scripture:* _1Timothy 4:12 – Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity._
*CHURCH DISCIPLINE 1*
At the time when Paul was ordaining Timothy as a minister,he was a very young man at that time. At his age,he was the first pastor of the church at Ephesus. It was necessary for him to be instructed in the code of conduct as a minister.
As a minister of God in church, there is a kind of behavior Timothy needed in order not to become a stumbling block and offense to his own ministry. The absence of knowledge about behavior and conduct as a minister has destroyed the brand of many ministries and churches always.
As a minister of God in church, you must have boldness and never to be despised by anyone in church. You can only win a certain honour and exhortation among the church because of your character and conduct. By this no man will ever despise you in ministry.
Exercise to take heed the words that you speak among men always. Let your words be full of grace and exhortation. Let your words minister healing, wisdom and knowledge to the hearers always. The words you speak will acquaint you with honor among the believers.
Understand that your character/conversation must be presentable to the church. Let men boast and be proud of your character as a minister. Exercise a language of charity/love in church and outside church always. These things preserve a ministry.
The quality of your spirit, diligence, availability and how you respond and handle situations must be inspirational to the church. Invest in having a personal testimony of faith as minister in your finances, career, relationship etc. God wants men to be inspired by the happenings of faith in your spirit.
Lastly, purity of heart is necessary for you as a minister in church. Purity of heart means that everything you do is to please God from the bottom of your heart always. You do not work out of strife, grumbling, competition, comparison but rather the state of your heart behind all things is to please God. It is part of church discipline.
