*BEING BORN AGAIN 5(BORN OF THE SPIRIT)*

Many times you hear Christians say I am born of God, I am born of righteousness. I am of the word, I am born of holiness. I am born of incorruption. I am born of the spirit. I am born from above. All these refer to the same thing that a man is born again. It is not being proud.

To be born again is to also be born of the spirit. That is why Jesus told Nicodemus that a man must be born of the spirit. This means that your spirit man is made alive and given life. You are made a new man in the spirit.

Before salvation, your spirit was dead and full of sin. *_Ephesians 2:1 – And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;_* Any man without Jesus is a dead man. He carries a fallen nature and spirit. That man only becomes alive by faith in Jesus Christ.

The old spirit you had was washed in the blood of Jesus Christ, *_Revelation 1:5…. and Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,_* Jesus washed your old spirit in his blood from all blemishes, spots etc and it came out pure, holy and dressed with righteousness. That is what made you a new creature.

This new spirit that came out of the blood was sealed with the Holy spirit from corruption, unrighteousness and filthness. *_Ephesians 1:13 – ….in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,_* You became one spirit with God. You are joined together with the spirit of God.

Adam’s spirit was subject to sin because it was not sealed with the Holy spirit. Satan had access to that man’s spirit because he was not sealed. The devil has no access to your spirit because you are sealed with the Holy spirit.

The new man/spirit in you is created full of righteousness and holiness after the image of God himself. *_Ephesians 4:24 – And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness._* You are completely righteous and Holy because of the spirit you are born of.

To be born of the spirit refers to the passing away of the old spirit/man. *_Romans 6:6 – Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin._* You are now delivered from sin and wickedness. You are a servant of righteousness..

The body of sin has been done away with. You are dressed with a new body of righteousness. The old man was subject to sickness and gave birth to all manner of oppressions in you. But the new man in you is created after dominion, power, righteousness and glory.

*Nugget:* To be born of the spirit is the recreation experience of your spirit man. The old spirit passes away and you are given a new spirit from God born of righteousness and holiness. You are nolonger subject to serve sin to the glory of God.
