*Study scripture : 1Kings 22:27-28 [NKJV]*
27 – and say, “Thus says the king: “Put this fellow in prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and water of affliction, until I come in peace.””‘
28 – But Micaiah said, “If you ever return in peace, the LORD has not spoken by me.” And he said, “Take heed, all you people!”
*Theme: True prophecy*
Micaiah was the prophet who was not part of the first 400 prophets king Ahab called to inquire from.
From verse 13 when the king Ahab told his messenger to call micaiah but the messenger told micaiah , ” behold , the words of the prophets with one accord are favourable to the king .” But micaiah said , ” As the Lord lives , what the Lord says to me , that I will speak .” But King Ahab hated micaiah because he never prophesies good concerning him but evil.
Micaiah was a true prophet from the Lord because he knew that all the 400 prophets carried a lying spirit in their mouths which caused disaster to king Ahab .
The king did not listen to prophet micaiah and he was put in prison for speaking the truth . But prophet micaiah was confident in his words because he told king Ahab that if he returns in peace then the Lord has not spoken by him .
Therefore as children of God we should always be able to discern the true of word of God because we see the king Ahab wanted to hear something else yet prophet micaiah was telling him the truth . Scriptures tell us that in the last days people will incline their ears to what they want to hear. Be watchful child of God .
