1 Samuel 3:8-10 – And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child. – Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. – And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth._
*Submission 3 (clarity of the voice of God)*
One of the things that defines the extent to which you will hear the voice of God is the level of your submission. God has placed his voice in the men you submit to always.
When you submit to a man by the vindication of the spirit, that man God has approved in your life has a clarity of the voice of God concerning your life.
Look at the boy Samuel, the bible says God called upon Samuel two times but the boy did not recognize that it was the voice of God. There was a possibility of Samuel turning it down. But Samuel’s submission to Eli is what brought a clarity of the voice of God.
There are many Christians who God speaks to or who are confused about certain decisions in life. They are not certain of the voice that spoke to their lives.
The spiritual authority in your life has the voice of God concerning your life. When you get confused about a decision or about a choice. It is important to always involve a man you are submitted to by the spirit.
Eli instructed Samuel on how to respond because the priest knew and recognized when and how God always speaks.
*Acts.13.2 – As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.* The instruction concerning the work God had called Barnabas and Paul to do did not come to the two. It came through the elders they were submitted to.
There are many things that God will never speak to you personally but will speak through a man or woman you honor and submitted to.
Many Christians always despise the instructions of men placed into their lives for instruction. It is because they think that God must speak personally to them.
Much as all of us have received the Holy spirit, there is the voice of God, clarity and voice of confirmation in the people God has placed in your life. It is important to always involve your spiritual authority in some decisions.
Glory to God.
*Further study:* Acts 13:1-3, 1 Thessalonians 2:13
*Nugget:* It is always important to esteem the instructions of the men God has placed in your life. Your spiritual authority has a voice of God concerning your life always.
