To know Christ Jesus

Phil.3.8 – Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

There are things that become so obvious as long as one is born again, scripture says such a being is begotten from above, nothing on earth can define that being.

Our theme scripture, Paul emphasizes it that when he met Christ he counted all things loss that he may gain Christ. It means Christ brings me to the end of self, he is the end of the law (self effort) for righteousness to everyone who believes.

It means everything you gained through human wisdom becomes loss, there are relationships you automatically consider lost, there are job opportunities you end up leaving because there are not consistent with the knowledge of Christ.

There are believers still in bondage simply because they remained attached to things they were supposed to leave, you find a believer frustrated because he/she gave room to a wrong job opportunity, a wrong partner etc. It doesn’t require praying and fasting, the scripture says consider (regard) all things loss that you may gain/lean entirely on Christ.

Are you ready to count things loss for the sake of Christ?? This is what gives us complete rest in Christ, scripture says come to me all of you who are *tired* and *heavy laden* there are people who came to Christ when they are heavy laden yet they are not tired.

It’s required of us to consider ourselves dead to the old man that we may take on the yoke of Christ and learn of him. We must walk renewed after the image of Christ, acquainting ourselves with the knowledge of Christ that we may experience him and the power of his resurrection.
