LESSON TWO (FIRST PRINCIPLES OF THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST)*

LESSON TWO (FIRST PRINCIPLES OF THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST)*
*PROGRAM 6: RESURRECTION FROM THE DEAD*

?? There are two kinds of death recorded in the scriptures.
1. Spiritual death
2. Physical death

?? Spiritual death is the place where man is separated from God by reason of the sin nature while physical death is the place where man is separated from his physical body.

So when we speak about resurrection then it all falls under one of those two categories.

?? Jesus was not the first person to be raised from physical death. In the old testament even before he came we have many people who were raised from physical death.

Examples include the shunamites son raised by Elisha, the widow’s son raised by Elijah, the man whose dead body touched the bones of Elisha and he was resurrected, those Jesus himself raised from physical death etc.

?? However Jesus was the first one to be raised from spiritual death. All the resurrections before Jesus Christ were from physical death and not spiritual death.

?? The only way a person can be raised back to life from spiritual death is when they become born again. When you become born again, you become a new creature hence raised from spiritual death in the form of a new being hallelujah glory to God.

?? However even at the end of times there will be a different kind of resurrection also. The Bible speaks of the first and the second resurrections. The resurrection of the just into life eternal, the place where we will be re United with our bodies for those who died before the rapture, then also the resurrection of the dead or those not born again unto eternal damnation.

?? Act 24:15 KJV And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

??Thank God that the moment you and I got born again the we are partakers of the resurrection of the just unto life. However for a man who is not born again when they die, the only resurrection they await is that unto damnation.
