*Study scripture:* _Matthew 27:33-34 KJV. 33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, 34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink._
*A REASON TO SAY THANK YOU JESUS*
Before Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross, scriptures tell us that he was given vinegar mixed with gall to drink. What is vinegar? And what is gall?Vinegar was the mixture of sour wine that was accustomed for the Roman soldiers to drink.
How about gall? When you study the prophecy in Psalms 69:21, the word used for gall in Hebrew actually means poison, venom or hemlock. So they gave him a mixture of sour wine with poison to drink.
The moment he tested of it and knew that it was poisoned, he would not drink. At that moment of great pain beyond measure, great shame, any man would desire to die quickly, so that would be an opportunity to quicken death, some would take the drink in order to die and stop the pain however with Jesus, it was not so. He had to hold on till when it was finished. He refused to drink it deliberately.
He refused to succumb to death even in those hours of great pain, our salvation made him to endure the pain, shame and all form of wickedness, He endured all the torture and pain because he had a reason to endure and that reason was you and me who would believe him.
Jesus saw you and me getting born again and he said to himself “I have to endure this cross, the pain and shame, I cannot die before I accomplish their salvation” and in that he brought many sons to glory. We are alive because of the great salvation that God accomplished through the pain and suffering of his son Jesus Christ _hallelujah glory to God._

*NUGGET*
Everytine we think of what Jesus did for us on the cross, it is enough reason for us to say thank you lord Jesus. That’s why even when life seems hard on us, we still have a reason to say thank you lord Jesus. It’s enough reason for us never to murmur because we know what he accomplished for us.
*Prayer.* Father we thank you for the precious gift of your son who both died and rose again to the end that he may bring many sons unto glory, we thank you that by the precious work that he did we were made sons because we believed on his name, we are grateful beyond measure in Jesus name AMEN.
