“Who then is a *faithful and wise servant* , whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?”
— Matthew 24:45 (KJV)
*Wise servant* .
In our service to the Lord, our character and way of ministry defines whether we are wise in doing the Father’s Business or foolish. Jesus not once did he describe that despite the fact that there are servants in his Father’s House, there are those who are wise and fools as well.[Matthew 25:1-13, Matthew 24:45-51, ]
What makes a servant wise according to Jesus, is being circumsceptive of His master’s return and being fruitful in that which is accorded to him. The characteristics of being a foolish servant is: having the thought that your master won’t return, loss of accountability of the things under your stewardship and failure to produce fruit out of that the Lord has accorded to you .
[Psalms 90:12], the prayer to learn to number our days, is a prayer of a wise servant. We are wise in service when we make more disciples this is the multiplication required of us.[Matthew 25:14-]: the wise servants traded the talents they had and multiplied, for this is what carries a reward in God’s Kingdom.
Therefore, daily we walk awakened to the fact that the Master’s return is soon (never does it cross our minds that he tarries longer) and this we know that whatsoever gift (talent) accorded to us, we are bound to win more souls and disciple them, for this is being wise in service unto God. Hallelujah!
