*Study scripture:* _Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord._
*WHY JESUS DIED*
The scriptures tell us that the wages of sin is death. Every man that commits sin is supposed to die or be put to death. In the old testament, the sentence upon a man who committed adultery, murder and all evil works was supposed to be death. It is the reason as to why the woman caught in adultery was supposed to be killed in John 4.
For example, when Adam committed sin in the garden of Eden,it was the genesis of death upon all human beings. Adams death was a spiritual death and not a physical death. He died to the presence of God. The disobedience of Adam caused all human beings to be judged.
*_Romans 5:12 – Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:_* When sin entered into the world,it carried death as its repercussions. This death was a spiritual death. All men that were born after Adam were made partakers of this spiritual death.
*_Ephesians 2.1 – And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;_* Before the life of salvation, all men were dead in sin. Anyman without Jesus as Lord and savior is a dead man because the sentence of sin is death always. The only time a man becomes alive to God is by faith in death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
But Jesus died that he may pay for the wages of your sins. Jesus took over your place that you may inherit his place. You were supposed to pay for your sins but his death brought an exchange of life to you.
He died because of your sin that you may never die. He went to hell that once you believe in him you may never go to hell. In the place of your death, he rather justified you and gave you eternal life.
Child of God be bold about the gift of eternal life you have attained through Jesus. The sentence of sin and death has no power over you. You are a partaker of the Righteousness of God and eternal life. Jesus died for your sin that the penalty of it may no more be upon you.
*_hallelujah!!_*

John 3:16
Romans 5:17.
*Nugget:* The wages of sin is death. Every man that commits sin is supposed to die. When you committed sin, God did not condemn you to death but your sentence of death was upon Jesus that you may receive justification, righteousness and eternal life.
*_Praise God!!_*
