TRADING THE BLESSING FOR A MEAL OF STEW

*Study scripture*

*Hebrews 12:16-17*
_lest there [be] any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears._

*TRADING THE BLESSING FOR A MEAL OF STEW*

As a First born child, Esau was entitled to certain privileges but he treated that status with recklessness and contempt when he sold His birthright for a meal of stew. As a result, Esau lost out on those blessings and later when he also sought His full blessing it had also been lost it to his brother Jacob and he obtained a lesser glory or secondary blessing.

The blessing of the birthright that Esau lost had to do with an Authoritative position and inheritance of all that was of the Father. As children of God, the bible says we have also been blessed with all Spiritual blessings in the Heavenly places *(Ephesians 1:3)*. We now have Christ the firstborn among the brethren ( *Romans 8:29* ) in us so we are entitled to the same blessing of the Birth right

Likewise many of us today have despised and traded these blessings that we are entitled too for a meal of stew; and by this I mean for the things of this World… We hunger less for the eternal things treating them with recklessness and contempt and instead hunger more for the perishable things of this world and we wonder why some men are prospering and seem more loved by God than we are

That portion of scripture concludes by saying that when Esau wanted to inherit his blessing, he found no place for repentance, though he sought it with blessings. Despite the fact that we are permanent sojourners of the blessings in Christ, when we take this status lightly , we can seek that place but fail to fully operate in it because we wasted time and didnt value it thus settling for lesser glorious or a secondary blessing. Now is not the time to trade the Blessing for a meal of stew time but rather to be serious about this blessed resurrection life we have received in Christ Jesus, the time to cultivate these blessings and see them manifest in our lives through knowledge not only for us but for generation after us.
