THE NAME OF JESUS 1

*Study scripture:* _Mathew 1:21 – And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins._

*THE NAME OF JESUS 1*

The greatest challenge in life is not really understanding how to operate in the things and rights that have been given to me as a Christian. There are many tools, weapons and strategies God has given to us for our elevation as christians but we need to know how to operate in them.

One of the many weapons God has given to you as a Christian is the name of Jesus. You must have the boldness to take advantage of the name of Jesus in your life circumstances. The name of Jesus represents the person of Jesus himself in this world.

When you make mention of the name of Jesus,it carries the fullness and embodiment of the person of Jesus himself. Everything Jesus can do for you that name can do it by your faith in it. Because Jesus heals that name can heal. If Jesus provided, through faith in that name you receive provision.

In our theme scripture,the bible says that he was named Jesus because he would take away the sins of many. The very first significance of that name is that through it the sins of many are forgiven and taken away.

Through faith in the name of Jesus, a man has access to forgiveness and remission of sins. We preach salvation in the name of Jesus because it is the name given to men to the end the power of sin in their lives when when they believe on it. There are people struggling with sin because they have not had of Jesus.

_Luke 24:47 – And that *repentance* and *remission* of sins should be preached in his *name(Jesus)* among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem._ It is never possible to emphasize the forgiveness, salvation and remission of sins without talking about the name of Jesus.

It is by faith in that name that a man is reconciled back to God. Salvation does not come by your own works and efforts to please the Lord,it does not come by money or character. It comes through faith in the name of Jesus.

*Nugget:* Righteousness does not come by works. Righteousness comes by faith in the name of Jesus Christ. Faith in the name of Jesus is what gives you access to forgiveness and remission of your sins in the sight of God.
