Ps.51.11 – Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
*The ministry of the Holy Spirit 3*
When you study scriptures, it’s always seen that we have a heavenly father who is always excited about having fellowship with his children, God loves it so much when we can feel all his presence, forgiveness, Love etc present with you us every moment. This is one of the reasons we have the Holy Spirit, I always wonder what believers mean when they make statements like “I feel bored today, iam so lonely today” and so much other statements; it’s because they can’t awaken to this beautiful character of God that always he wants to commune/show himself present with us at all times
When scripture says; Matt.18.20 – *For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.*
You see, the issue here is not in how many you are, No!! It’s in how God is so much eager to be amidst men that have gathered to have fellowship with him.
Our theme scripture was David’s prayer but let’s see something here; *Ps.51.11 ……..thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit…* In this very scripture he speaks of God’s presence and the Holy spirit, it means the holy spirit is the carrier of God’s presence, he is the angel of God’s presence according to Isaiah 63:9-10 that’s one of his primary ministry in the life of believers.
However, no Christian now needs to pray David’s prayer again, even when they happen to fall into sin,
because the Holy Spirit has come to dwell in every believer, and the Lord Jesus said He shall abide
with us forever (John 14:16). If you are ignorant of his presence in your life because maybe you sined, it doesn’t mean that he isn’t there. He remains present in you to help you grow out of sin as he convicts you daily of what the word of God says.
When we pray, it’s the Holy Spirit Who makes the divine presence real to our spirits, and then we
seem to ‘feel close’ to the living God. We are spiritually overwhelmed by divine glory.
God is omnipresent, but His manifested presence is not everywhere. The Holy Spirit is the One Who manifests God’s presence. He brings to us an awareness of the
power of God, and makes God’s presence real to us; and that reality of His presence stirs up faith in
us which is relevant for the miraculous.
