Now a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man [and] *mighty in the Scriptures,* came to Ephesus.

*THE MAN APOLLOS 1* – _(A man Eloquent & Mighty in Scriptures)_

The Scriptures themselves witness of a a man named Apollos and what an introduction they give! They record that he was a man not only _” *eloquent but also mighty in these very matters; scripture*”_. Mind you he wasn’t even among the 12 and yet great things are spoken about Him proof enough that *_”God is no respecter of persons”. (Romans 2:11)_*

The Word ” *Eloquent* ” there means _’fluent or persuasive in speaking”._ Eloquence is something we ought to desire as ministers of the Gospel. The bible says, ” *_But ye have an unction from on High and ye know all things_*” ( *1 John 2;20* ) and so we ought to persuade men unto this very end not as mere gamblers but as those who know ALL things.The Men we minister too should be persuaded that in truth this Gospel we preach is indeed the very power of God unto salvation for the Jew first and also to the Greek ( *Romans 1:16* ). We ought to leave them men with more answers than questions.

But that alone can’t guarantee a man’s success in Ministry. The bible adds that ” *_He was mighty in scripture_*”. This was the ice breaker here. Its amazing how the scriptures testify of the Men who knew God through them; such was Apollos. Are you believing God for great things to be written or spoken of you; for scripture to witness about you as it did with Apollos? Then quit taking God’s Word lightly.

The Bible says, _” *So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, [act] like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides* .”_ ( Colossians 3;1).

*NUGGET*
_God is looking for men serious about living this New Resurrection life, men who will pursue the things which over which He presides such as His Word. Study it day and night; by so doing your sowing seeds of Greatness and your light is shining brighter each and every other day. Do it long enough and just as Apollos was commissioned to Achaia, you too God will commission to Nations and you shall be read about amongst God’s Generals. No shortcuts_
