1Tim.1.8 – We know these laws are good when they are used as God intended.
1Tim.1.9 – But they were not made for people who do what is right. They are for people who are disobedient and rebellious, who are ungodly and sinful, who consider nothing sacred and defile what is holy, who murder their father or mother or other people.
1Tim.1.10 – These laws are for people who are sexually immoral, for homosexuals and slave traders, for liars and oath breakers, and for those who do anything else that contradicts the right teaching
*The law is not for the righteous*
There are conversations in the body of Christ that can hardly leave the alter, pulpit or any platform of influence simply because of the contradictions in doctrine. Peter speaks of how the unlearnt men, the unstable men twists scripture to their own destruction.
There is a believer in church who simply enjoys being reminded not to sin, not to fornicate, he feels the presence of God is available when you tell him let’s break the evil spirits are fighting his business and marriage. It’s so hard for him to believe and agree to how righteous he has been made, how demon free he is etc. Such people Paul warns Timothy saying they are ever learning and can’t come to the knowledge of the truth, they are lovers of the doctrine of demons.
Our theme scripture opens us to a certain understanding in God, it reveals the purpose of the law. It’s for disobedient, rebellious, the ungodly and sinners. Scripture says such consider nothing holy and sacred, it’s for people pattern themselves against the testimony of Jesus Christ.
No man subjected under the law approaches God with a pure conscience, through the law no man can understand the God who is loving and merciful because where the law is, there increase of sin, the law holds a testimony that Jesus Christ died for nothing because it awakens man to his old state before Jesus.
So as a righteous man, base your relationship with God on the teaching of righteousness. The testimony which the holy spirit holds concerning Jesus is good news, the holy spirit is here to help us understand how right we are standing before God through Christ Jesus, he bares witness saying while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. It’s the testimony of how God chose to influence the world, some men are still struggling with poverty simply because they haven’t received the good news of how Jesus became poor for their sake.
Everytime you function under the instructions of the law, you settle for less, you live the whole of your life as one escaping hell yet Christ came to give us life in abundance, legal men are always decieved by the glory in the law yet the scripture says it’s a glory that fades.
Hallelujah, look into the perfect Law of liberty; Jesus Christ who has set us free from the law of sin and death, he is the end of the law for righteousness, that’s our true inheritance.
