THE EXPERIENCE / ENCOUNTER (Identitiy) II

*STUDY SCRIPTURE.*
Genesis 17:4 -5 (NKJV)
“As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.

*THE EXPERIENCE / ENCOUNTER (Identitiy) II.*
At the time when Abraham encountered God, he was called Abram and even his wife was Sarai.

The name Abram meant exalted father but immediately when this man had an encounter with God, one of the things that we see that change immediately is his identity (name). God gave him a new name Abraham which means the father of multitudes.

We also learn of another man of God called Jacob at the time when he had an encounter with God also, the immediate thing that God does was to change his name from Jacob to Israel. And from this we see a nation being born from this man.

The immediate thing that God does when we receive his son in us, he changes our identify. We nolonger be called of the world but we are called heirs with Christ Jesus.

That is why in 1Peter 2.9(NKJV) the Bible says that you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. This means that the encounter with God unvails the true identity and parsonality of a man and sets him on a new coarse, to the glory of God.
