*Theme Scripture*
*Luke 1:15*
_For *he will be great in the sight of the Lord* , and *shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit* , even from his mother’s womb._
*SORRY, NO WINE FOR YOU JOHNNY*
Praise King Jesus Saints! We are looking at John the Baptist in our theme Scripture and The angel of the lord speaks to Zacharias that his boy and Elizabeth was *_1). Going to be Great in the sight of the lord_* but then that *_2). He should neither have any strong drink nor wine_* meaning that John’s Greatness, his being greater than all born of women at the time ( *Matthew 11:11* ) was all based on His obedience not to have any strong drink and wines. He was to be filled with the Holy Ghost instead. The way to His greatness was just not automatic.
What does tbe bible have to say about Wines? It says *Ephesians 5:18* that wines once drunk lead to dissipation which means ” *_Over indulgence in sensual Desires_* ” but also ” *_Squandering of energy and Resources_”*. Meaning had John gotten himself on strong drinks and wines he stood a chance of getting drunk not on the Holy Spirit which would mean squandering that energy and that seed or resource of greatness deposited in Him; having his Great destiny frustrated. Now wine doesn’t have to mean whiskies and spirits only but anything God has instructed you to forsake.
Child of God, do you believe you’ve been called to greatness? Have you had some people prophesy over your life saying you’re going to be Great? Well praise God but I hate to break it to you its not automatic.
There are wines; I mean things you need to just do away with in your life that can squander that which has been deposited in you. If God really called you which he did then he must also given you conditions to guide you to your greatness. Observe them, rid yourself of strong drink and wines _( it could be a habit, something you really enjoy, a people dear to you)_ and you will be great. He who promised is faithful and He will do it ( *1 Thessalonians 5;24* )
