Response to the word of God

“They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.”
— Luke 8:13 (KJV)
Response to the word of God.
Often times in our fellowships and churches we recieve powerful, impactful and life transforming messages through the word of God shared. We often times leave these fellowships with an assurance that God is for us, we have victory in Christ and all these good things we have learnt, but unfortunately, few see the results of what they heard. Why?
Our response to it! the word of God comes most times and we are excited, we have joy, and some even make melodies from the sermons. But what we ought to know is that the word of God is not addressed to appease our emotions like a soccer match no! Not for us to shout Hallelujah, Glory glory and dance, Jesus says (Luke 8:13); this is the reason why this word not is having roots in us: we stop at the excitement!

The word of God has a purpose attached to it and we only see its result when it has roots in us. We ought to recieve this word and mix it up with faith, meditate upon it daily and pray in it; Joshua 1:8, says with this you will make your ways prosperous and have good success. Hallelujah!

The only way we will truimph over temptations of life, is if this transformative power that comes with the word of God has gotten roots in us, to establish us as Men and Women of God whose victory is normal not a miracle!
