OUR FEEDING PATTERNS 1

*OUR FEEDING PATTERNS 1*

_1st Peter 2:2 KJV, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:_

Spiritual babes consists of three categories of christians. Firstly, those who have just become born again, Secondly, those who have spent a long time in salvation but we’re not feeding on the word of God, Thirdly, Those who had spent long time in salvation but have been fed with wrong doctrine. All those are categorised as spiritual babes.

The Greek word for desire in our opening scripture also means to pursue with love. So the spiritual babes have to pursue with love the sincere milk of the word and this word will cause them to grow thereby. It is entirely the ability of the word to cause them to grow.

So when we talk about milk of the word, it is the first spiritual food that every Christian has to partake of, milk of the word can be defined as the first principles of the doctrine of Christ. So every babe in Christ ought to be fed with milk firstly and not with meat.

So milk is the first dimension of feeding concerning the Christian growth. Some of the doctrines among others that are categorised in the realm of milk are repentance from dead works, faith toward God, doctrine of baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection from the dead, eternal judgment, righteousness by faith, who is the new creature etc.

It is not not bad to be a babe, however it is dangerous to stay a babe in your Christian walk. So seek to grow always by firstly feeding on and understanding the first principles of the doctrine of Christ and walking or exercising yourself in them.

*Nugget:* In the feeding patterns of a christian, milk is the first food to be fed on by the new convert or novice. So seek to grow always by firstly feeding on and understanding the first principles of the doctrine of Christ and walking or exercising yourself in them.

*Confession:* Heavenly father, I thank you that you have given me an understanding to know the things that you have freely given me, I thank you for the word that builds me up daily and gives me an inheritance among the saints to the end that I may be established in the faith. Amen.
