*Hebrews 6:10 (KJV);* For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
*OF THE PATTERNS OF SERVICE*
Service to God, like many other things in the life of a believer, has patterns. There are people who are serving but are doing so outside the patterns of service.
If you do not learn the patterns, you will never enjoy the satisfaction that comes with serving God.
Chances are that you may grow resentful and wonder at a God to whom you give your all but who seems not to give back much in return.
One pattern is found in Ecclesiastes 9:10. The Bible says, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.” Work hard and give it your very best. This is the pattern of diligence.
In Ecclesiastes 10:4, the Bible says, “If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for yielding pacifieth great offences.”
Even if a leader treats you in a way you may perceive as unfair, do not quit, do not leave your place if God has not instructed you to. Here is the pattern of endurance.
Luke 9:62 paints a further principle in the pattern of endurance. The Bible says, “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Get out of the habit of taking breaks from God and from serving Him because you feel unrewarded in your service. In this, I do not mean genuine rest to refresh your mind and body but decisions people make ‘to take a break from God’ arising out of personal disappointments. Divine purpose is not something you switch on and off depending on when you feel like it or not. The Bible says that such people are not fit for the kingdom of God.
When your labours are of God and patterned after His principles, they are never in vain!
Hallelujah!

*GOLDEN NUGGET:* When your labours are of God and patterned after His principles, they are never in vain!
*PRAYER:* Loving and faithful Father, I thank You for this truth. I thank You because the steps of the righteous are ordered of the Lord. I serve You as I am led and instructed by You. I understand the principles and patterns of service and that is why I constantly bear fruit in and out of season. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
