Of Spiritual Maturity 2

Luke.8.14 – And as for what fell among the thorns, these are [the people] who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked and suffocated with the anxieties and cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not ripen (come to maturity and perfection).

*Of Spiritual Maturity 2*

As long as a man is still puting on mortality, there will always be seed and Harvest time. Everyone reaps/harvests because something was sown, that’s why Apostle Paul also speaks of sowing to the Flesh and the spirit. Our theme scripture opens us to a meditation of seeds which fell in thorns according to the parable of the sower, and Jesus says that the understanding of the parable is that the seed is the WORD.

You see, the end result of sown seed (the word) is conceiving Faith, Faith is not just an ability one has to believe God for a break through noo it’s one having the ability/strength to behold the perfection of things as Accomplished in Christ Jesus, in otherwords when you’re before a diabetic person, as you lay hands on them you have the clear vision of how Christ perfected that person from the oppression of diseases. So here Faith is in one growing the strength to behold and remain consistent to the things that define or make us in God.

But our opening verse speaks of how we receive the word and it’s choked by anxieties, pleasures and worries of life. It means such a person has received the word but hasn’t treated it as seed or as the beginning of their newness in Life, such can’t grow to maturity/to perfection (finished works of Christ). Scripture says Prov.24.10 – If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
There are men when trials come around in form of worries and pleasures of life, they give in.. scripture says their strength is small in otherwords their ability (willingness) to do the Word is small, such can’t enjoy the fruit of Faith. Perfection/maturity is manifested as one walks faithful to the teaching of God’s word.
