LIKENESS OF GOD

*STUDY SCRIPTURE.*
Genesis 1:26 (KJV)
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

LIKENESS OF GOD.
Likeness is noun meaning a resemblance or a similarity between somethings. From our theme scripture, we read that man was created first in the image and second in the likeness of God.

Now this means that there are very many things that we share with God in our DNA. Just like how a child will have some traits of his mother and father, so is man and God.

This means that by default there are things which we share with God and an example is love. The Bible in 1John 4:16 (KJV) says that “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”

Many people cry out when searching for love or even become distressed because they don’t experience love. They feel that they are not love. It means that this parson has forgotten about who he/she is and true nature.

So the best way to know about yourself is to know who God is through his word because he is the word. That is when a man can define him or her self easily because of the likeness he has with God.
