*LESSON TWO (FIRST PRINCIPLES OF THE DOCTRINES OF CHRIST)*
*PROGRAM 3: FAITH TOWARD GOD*
Hebrews 6:1 KJV Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and *OF FAITH TOWARD GOD,*
??What is faith toward God? It is the faith that is built upon God. The faith based and founded on God. This is the place where your faith relies entirely on the word of God and nothing else.
?? A faith that is built upon God is the one that will rely on what the lord has said and is saying irrespective of the environment and circumstances.
??Today the world is filled with men and women who build their faith basing on other people’s experiences. They think that because one minister became sick and died they should also go through the same, they think that when a minister fails, then they also will fail at a certain point in time, they think that if the fire consumed them then it will consume you also at a certain point. That’s deception. Never build your faith entirely on another man’s experiences. *Their experiences are there for us to learn from, not to build our faith upon.*
?? We build our faith basing entirely on the word of the lord. If the other man failed, maybe he had not believed the word concerning his situation. Build your faith basing on the word of God and not other people’s experiences.
??For example when God told Abraham to go to a land that he will show him, Abraham didn’t ask for directions, he just moved out by faith not knowing where he was going. He just believed the word and acted upon it accordingly. That is a faith built upon God through his word.
?? Hebrews 11:8 KJV By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; *and he went out, not knowing whither he went.*
?? Hebrews 11:8 MESSAGE VERSION – By an act of faith, Abraham said yes to God’s call to travel to an unknown place that would become his home. *When he left he had no idea where he was going.*
Abraham relied entirely on that word. God said go and he packed his things and began going. You would call Abraham mad if you were with him.
?? When we speak of God telling you of things that be not as though they were, the moment you believe then and walk by them then you are building your faith upon God. Even if you don’t see them yet.
?? Romans 4:17 KJV (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, *and calleth those things which be not as though they were.*
?? An example of unbelief happened in the wilderness, God told the Israelites to go and possess the Land but they chose to first send out spies. That was an act of unbelief. Why would you want to spy that which God said go and posess, God didn’t first tell them to spy. He said possess.
?? Deuteronomy 1:21-22 KJV 21 Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: *go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee;* fear not, neither be discouraged. 22 *And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come.*
?? When you learn how to rely on what the word of God says then you build your faith upon that which God has said, then you will learn what it means to bring to nothing things that are. That’s the place where you will begin changing the seen hallujah glory to God.
?? So faith toward God is faith built upon what God has said. What has God said concerning your health? what has God said concerning your finances? what has God said concerning your career? what has God said concerning your ministry? etc.
When you build your faith upon God, you will defy the doctor’s report. You will defy the report of poverty, you will defy the report of failure.
?? Psalms 112:1,7 KJV Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. *He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.*
When you come across a man that has trusted the word and has built their faith on God, even when the doctors report says they have two days to live, they will not fear. They will keep still.
?? What God has called clean, let no man call unclean, what God has called rich, let no man call poor, what God has called healthy let no man call unhealthy, what God has called pure, let no man call impute, what God has called righteous let no man call unrighteous hallelujah glory to God. What God has called light let no man call darkness.
?? That’s why we take God for what he has said concerning us. That’s a man who has understood what it means to build their faith upon God.
Even when a disease comes, they will still stay with the report of God. They will still believe the report of God hallelujah to Jesus. That’s why Isaiah asks, who has believed our report?
The doctor may find AIDS in your blood, he may find sickle cells in your blood etc but what has God said concerning you? That’s all that matters.
