*STUDY SCRIPTURE*
*Matthew 11:2-4* _Now when *John heard in prison* about the deeds of the Christ, he sent word by his disciples and said to him, ” *Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?* ” And Jesus answered them, ” *Go and tell John what you hear and see:*_
*KEEPING YOUR TESTIMONY WHILST IN PRISON*
This is what the bible says in *John 1:29-32* “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, _”Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.” And John bore witness, saying, ” *I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him* .”_
Did you know that at some point John the Baptist the instant He saw Jesus He knew beyond all doubt that He (Jesus) was the Son of God; no one needed to tell him. As a matter of fact the bible says he also saw the spirit of God rest upon Him as a dove and he must also heard the voice from Heaven declaring Jesus as the Son of God
And yet a few chapters later as seen in our theme Scripture, John the baptist is arrested and put in Prison _(Faced with hardship)_ and something happened to him whilst there; John begins to doubt if Jesus was truly the Messiah or that they should wait for another. Mind due Jesus testifies of John as being greater than the Prophets before him (Matthew 11;11) and yet his shaken here. That’s how bad it can get. Prison cut John off from the testimony he had of Jesus. He could no longer see nor hear and affirm that which the Prophets before had testified of the Messiah and thats exactly what the enemy does to us even today. Jesus understood John’s state that’s why he sends back his two disciples to tell him (John) what they hear and see as to remind him of the Testimony he had of Him before imprisonment _(Hardship)_.
As believers, the enemy will often place us in prisons _(Times of Hardship)_ and just cut off your hearing and sight of Jesus the Word (John 1;14); that testimony you had in that you start to doubt if you even ever heard God. I mean a Man who was once sure that ” *Yes, this is God. He has spoken to me and its not made up* ” moreover with some _”Supernatural Spiritual Evidence”_ that cleared even the tinniest Doubts now start to Doubt everything. How do you deal with that? Its by constantly keeping a testimony of What God spoke to you. Never let that Word out of thy sight and thine hearing. Constantly see and hear it over and over gain that even whilst you seem in prison _(Hardship)_, you are sure you didnt hear amiss.
