HOLINESS

*Study scripture: * _Exodus 3:4-5 – And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.- And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground._

*HOLINESS.*

Not every ground upon which Moses stood was Holy ground. I believe Moses had also put off his shoes in many other places but that did not make those places Holy for example the palace.

To understand what it means for God to refer to someone or something as Holy, we ought to begin by understanding what exactly made this ground to be Holy. The ground did not undergo any process of consecration to become Holy before the Lord.

This ground was Holy simply because of the presence of God upon it and before and after the presence of God departed from it,it was not Holy. What makes someone Holy is because of the presence of God in the life of that person.

Let us look at *_1Corinthians 3:17 – If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are._* and
*_1Corinthian 6:19 – What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?_*

The two verses above teach us about Holiness. The temple of God is Holy and who we are because the spirit of God dwells in us. The guarantee of a person’s Holiness is understanding that he is a partaker of the presence of God.

God has made you Holy because he lives in you. The burning bush was Holy for a moment as long as the presence of God was there. When it departed,the bush was normal. Understand the reality today that you are a partaker of Holiness through the presence of God in your life.

Everlasting Father. I thank you for the blessing of your word today. I bless your name for your presence in my life by which I am a partaker of your Holiness. I believe I walk in the fullness of your glory in the name of Jesus Christ.
