GOD’S WAYS

*Study Scripture*
1Sam.16.6 – When they arrived, Samuel took one look at Eliab and thought, “Surely this is the LORD’s anointed!”
1Sam.16.7 – But the LORD said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The LORD doesn’t make decisions the way you do! People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at a person’s thoughts and intentions.”

_*Insight 1*_
*GOD’S WAYS*
When we read this portion, from verses 1 through 13, we see the moment that God chose David to be king. Previously Saul was King but God had rejected him and this grieved Prophet Samuel. I guess he was disturbed and wondered why God had rejected him because even in verse 1 God asked Samuel that “For how long will you grieve over Saul since I have rejected him as King?”

But then this fateful day came and Samuel was sent to the house of Jesse father of David so that God could provide for himself a King and all the seven Sons of Jesse were brought upfront before Samuel but none of them was fit to be King in the eyes of God except for King David.

_Take a look at this!!!!_
The very first son Eliab was brought upfront and Samuel automatically thought this could be the King because he was in the past grieved about God rejecting Saul and he was in the moment of desperacy, this made him judge things with his own eyes.

Samuel looked at Eliab, the Bible says and he presumed that He was the lord’s anointed, but God blasted him saying “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. I don’t make decisions the way you do! People judge by outward appearance, but I look at a person’s thoughts and intentions.”

This clearly defined the difference between human nature and God’s, we judge things based on what we see yet God goes an extra mile to check the intentions and thoughts of man which humans cannot do. That’s why the bible says in Proverbs 23:7 Amp….For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Meaning our personality is usually driven by our thoughts and intentions.

That’s why Eliab was not fit to be king in the eyes of God because of his thoughts and intentions in his heart.

I don’t know how you’re viewing things today, you might be thinking this is it yet it’s not why because the intentions in your heart are limiting you to see that only yet God sees beyond what you can imagine and fathom. So let God be God, don’t let your desperacy about something blind you from seeing what God wants you to see.
Be blessed

*Nugget*
The Lord doesn’t view things the way humans do, we are limited in one way or the other but God goes beyond limitations. That’s why He is God!!!!!

_*Prayer*_
I know Lord my thoughts and my intentions within my heart might at times be corrupted but I ask you to examine my heart, search it deeper and cleanse all that’s impure in it, may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you always (Psalms 19:14) that I might be able to see what you would want me to see other than driving my sight based on what’s on the inside of me. In Jesus’name Amen.
