*Genesis 20:3,6*
_But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, ” *Indeed you [are] a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she [is] a man’s wife* .”_… _And God said to him in a dream, “Yes, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart. For I also withheld you from sinning against Me; *therefore I did not let you touch her* ._

*FAMILY AND MARRIAGE -6*
_(A God who preserves our marriages)_

Our theme scripture is a story about Abraham, Sarah and Abimelech king of Gerar. It shows God’s Faithfulness and readiness to preserve your spouse and your marriage. Abraham called Sarah his sister which was true, because she was his half sister but that wasn’t all the truth; she was also his wife and because Abimelech thought them as only brother and sister, he took Sarah in though hadn’t yet lain with her.

However, God later appears to Him in a Dream and calls him a ” *Dead man* ” for taking sarah and he reasons with God for his Innocence. God also mentioned that _*He withheld Abimelech from sinning against Him by not letting him touch Sarah*_ This is a huge lesson about how God esteems the marriages of His people. First if anyone ever wants go mess up your marriage, to God they are as good as dead but also God will not permit them touch your spouse, He will not allow it just as we have seen and you can stand on this scripture in prayer over your spouse or marriage. Amen

*Genesis 20:11*
And Abraham said, _*”Because I thought, surely the fear of God [is] not in this place* ; and they will kill me on account of my wife._

Here is our final lesson that it doesn’t matter whether our society today has no more fear for the lord and that divorce, adultery is just on the rampant; We as children of the most High know this for sure that concerning our marriages and relationships, God will preserve them no matter where we are, no matter who wants to get in the way. Can you imagine Abimelech was king and yet God will not let even kings or men such as them touch our spouses and ruin our marriages. Hallelujah! *_God preserves your Sarah and mine_* so anytime the enemy starts to want to intimidate you with infidelity, remember God’s Faithfulness in this passage of scripture and pray. Amen

*NUGGET*

We as children of the most High know this for sure that concerning our marriages and relationships, God will preserve them no matter where we are, no matter who wants to get in the way. Abimelechs will never take what’s ours.
