DO NOT SPEAK BACK

*Study scripture:* _Luke 23:9 – Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing._

*DO NOT SPEAK BACK.*

One of the most wonderful strategies in spiritual warfare is to learn not to speak back. You are not supposed to have a response on every accusation you hear about you from men.

When Jesus was before the king Herod, the scripture says he did not reply to him. In the midst of all the Jewish accusations and words spoken by his adversaries,he continuously held his peace throughout.

The sure signs of maturity is when you learn to keep quiet. *_James 1:19 – Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:_* The scripture expects us to be quick to listen but slow to speak back always. Always take off time to pay attention to the things being spoken.

*_Proverbs 25:28 – A person without self-control is as defenseless as a city with broken-down walls._* To have rule over your spirit means to learn to control your actions when you hear something bad about you. Controlling your actions involves even your speech.

Jesus kept quiet because he had gained ascendancy over his own spirit. Regardless of all the accusations against him whether right or wrong, the bible says he kept quiet. Never did he open up his mouth to speak back to them.

1 Peter 2:22-23.

*Nugget:*
When Jesus was reviled,he did not reviled back. When he was accused, he never spoke a word back. As a Christian, exercise a character to always keep quiet when certain accusations come your way. It is not spiritual to respond back to everything that is said about you always. Learn not to always answer back your adversaries to the glory of God.

*Prayer:*
I give you thanks Holy spirit for the new wisdom and counsel added to my spirit today. By the grace of God,I exercise not to answer back to my adversaries in all things in the name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
