CALL FOR AN ELDER

*Study scripture:* _James 5:14-15 – Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: – And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him._

*CALL FOR AN ELDER*

There was a Christian woman that contracted a wound that later turned into a rotting leg. She suffered with all this pain at her home and stopped coming to church. Throughout all this, none of the church members, pastors or elders knew about it. She could even die without the knowledge of any brother or sister.

There are christians that have suffered of sickness and died simply because they did not call for an elder. There are christians whose finances and marriages are being frustrated but have not opened up to anyone. They have lost all things in silence to the church.

Who is an elder? An elder does not mean someone that has been in church for so long. Neither does it mean the oldest man in church or the most popular and famous Christian. An elder is an individual who carries a testimony, judgement and experience of the word and the spirit.

What qualifies a man to be an elder is not a position,it is how far he has walked in the spirit. When you feel your health is diminishing and your faith is failing,it is important for you to call for an elder,a man of the Holy spirit. If your tuition has taken long,do not wait for the week of exams, engage an elder as early as possible.

Do not let the worst to happen yet some people can stand with you in prayer concerning that tuition balance, concerning your relationship, concerning your health. Why should you die silent in bed without the knowledge of your pastor yet christians Can stand with you? The bible says the Lord shall raise you.

There are Christians that have dropped out of school simply because they did not engage a higher annointing to pray for their tuition. Some are too proud to engage someone. Some have died simply because they did not call for someone to pray for them on their beds while sick.

Are you going through a tough circumstance? Do you have attacks at your workplace? Do not wait for the worst stage to occur. Call for a man higher than you. They will anoint you,pray for you and the bible says you shall be set free through the prayers.

I thank you Lord for the presence of eldership in my church. I acknowledge and celebrate them to the glory of God. Thank you for anointing them for me in the name of Jesus.
