_Romans 2:1 KJV Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things._
*BREAKING THE HEDGES*
The Greek word for inexcusable means without defence. What Paul is saying by the spirit is that whenever you judge another man and do the same thing that they were doing, you are without defence. Hedges are the things that protects you from attacks.
Being without defence means you are prone to attacks. Whatever attacks you will hit you without mercy. One way people break hedges over their lives is when they judge others.
When you stand in the seat of judgment and judge another man yet you are still doing the same thing, you are without defence meaning you have availed yourself to Satan’s attacks. That’s why many people are defenceless in the spirit, they judged where they were not supposed to and the hedge was broken, where they were supposed to keep quiet, they opened their mouths wide in judgment.
A man who understands his weaknesses, when he sees it in another man and doesn’t judge them still has a defence even in his weakness. But the moment you see a weakness in another man yet you have the same and you judge them, then you have broken your defence and you are open to attack any time. You are like a city without hedges.
Take a look at mob justice, whenever people catch someone because they stole something and beat him without mercy. I assure you, everyone of those engaged in the beating has already become defenceless because one day they might do the same thing. By that one act they have opened themselves up to the devils attack. Try studying all of them involved in mob justice, you will realise that before long, something fails around them the moment they do the same because they broke the hedge the moment they judged another.
Better not to judge at all. And the only way that is possible is when you always have mercy on the people who do those things. Instead of beating someone who has stolen, pray for them or love them out of it. God is able to restore what they have taken from you and I don’t think that whatever they take from the outside is worth taking a life. Through that your defence will be kept standing and firm. Glory to God.
