*BEING BORN AGAIN 2*

What is the essence of being born again? What does it mean to say am born again? Is being born again a religion? What makes someone be called born again? How does someone become born again? Being born in a Christian family does not make you born again.

Having a Christian name does not make you born again. Have a good character and manners does not make you born again. Attending all church services and doing all charitable works can never make you born again. Being a son/daughter of a pastor, reverend, bishop, apostle etc can never make you born again.

From our theme scripture, the bible says that with your heart you believe that God has raised Jesus from the dead. This means a man that does not believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus can never be saved. There are religions, traditions and cults that don’t believe Jesus is out of the grave. They can never be saved.

Firstly, a man must believe that Jesus is the son of God, born of a woman and that he came in the flesh. *1Timothy 3:16 – And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory._* This is where your godliness rotates. A man having faith in this reality is what imparts godliness and Righteousness to him.

*1 Corinthians 15.14,16-17* – *_And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. – For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:- And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins._* From the scriptures, what makes your faith of effect is the reality that Jesus has come out of the grave. The surety of our salvation, redemption and resurrection is the truth that Jesus has been raised from the dead.

The bible says we are yet still in our sins if Christ be not raised. But ladies and gentlemen, Jesus came out of the grave by the power of the Holy ghost. We are no longer in our sins but are now partakers of righteousness and holiness ready for the resurrection and his coming.

Therefore,we conclude that for a man to be born again,it is not your works or character or name. It is you believing with your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead and proclaiming, shouting, and confessing with your mouth that he is alive and Lord over your life.

*Nugget:* Good works do not make you born again. Being a son of a Bishop, pastor, apostle, reverend etc does not make you born again. Having a nice christian name and going to a good church doesn’t make you born again. Believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead and confess with your mouth that he is Lord over your life then you shall be born again. You shall be saved.
