BEING BORN AGAIN 1

*Study scripture:* _John.3.3-4 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.- Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?_

*BEING BORN AGAIN 1*

What does it mean to be born again? Many individuals always ask such questions to know what really became born again of them. Is it the body,soul or spirit?

When you become born again, it is not your body that is changed. Your skin color, height, body size, tribe remain the same. Also, your thoughts, emotions, ideas and mindset remains the same. Your body and soul are the same.

The part of you that is born again is your spirit. Your first experience of birth was of man and of the flesh. The second experience of birth is of the spirit. Your spirit is made to be brand new. The new creature in you is the new spirit you receive from the Lord.

*2 Corinthians 5:17* – _Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a *new creature:* *old things* are passed away; behold, all things are become new._ What makes you new is because you have received a new spirit from God that is void of sin. The old things/man refers to the old spirit and all his consequences always. The new man is not in the flesh or soul but in the spirit.

*Romans 6:6* – _Knowing this, that our *old man* is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin._ The old man is the old spirit that carried sin. When that man was crucified, sin was crucified with him. He is the end of sin. You received a new man from God that is free from sin. That is being born again. If the old man is the old spirit, the new man in you is what makes you a new creature.

*Ephesians 4:24* – _And that ye put on the *new man,* which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness._ That new man is like God himself. Actually he is God created in all righteousness and holiness. That new man is what makes you a new creature in Christ. True holiness does not come through works. It comes through you appreciating and acknowledging that you are new creature.

The old man that was subject to poverty, sickness, infirmities, failure, fear passes away and you are dressed with a brand new man elevated above fear, failure, sickness and above all doubts.

So when we speak of you being born again,it is not a change of what occurs in your flesh or soul. It is not even just a Change in character. It is not even a change in attitude. It is you believing that you are a new spirit from above.

*Nugget:* Nicodemus thought being born again refers to a change in your physical futures. But it is a testimony of the new spirit you have received from God. Be bold about that you are a new creature to the glory of God.
